FLINT, Mich. – Healthy eating, that’s the main goal for the United Fresh Foundation.

They have teamed up for the second year with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

The two organizations are bringing salad bars to Flint schools.

“We know that schools are serving a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables now and the salad bar is an excellent way for students to um select their own fresh fruits and vegetables, find certain things that they like and enjoy. Um it’s a visually appealing display so then encourages them to choose those healthier options,” said Andrew Marshall of United Fresh Foundation.

A total 55 salad bars have been introduced to schools across Michigan.
