Karina Irby is no stranger to trolling online – with hundreds of comments each day slamming her ‘plastic surgery’ and ‘fake butt implants’.

But the 28-year-old bikini designer doesn’t let the negative chatter worry her because she’s honed her physique through hard work – not a doctor’s appointment.

In her latest Instagram post, the owner of Moana Swimwear from Port Macquarie decided to share ‘the truth about her body’ with more than 900,000 followers.

‘For anybody waiting to see what surgeries I’ve had done to achieve this look, keep on scrolling… or leave your crazy comment below for my future entertainment,’ she began.

Dubbing the left picture ‘Karina’ and the right ‘Karina 2.0’ the Gold Coast native said her mindset between the two snaps is insanely different.

‘I thought that if I was skinnier I’d have more friends, look nicer in clothes, boys would like me blah blah blah,’ she said of the left image.

‘So I ate little and went on daily long distance runs (however, I did just want to listen to my new Fallout Boy playlist).

‘The photo on the right was only taken two days ago, and seeing these images side by side is a little confronting.’

She finished her extended caption by saying she hoped everyone had the opportunity to find their '2.0 version' in life

Karina said the transformation hasn’t just been a physical one, but mental too.

‘During this time period I have experienced and learnt so much about myself, my business, my friends, and of course, my health, fitness and nutrition,’ she explained.

‘My mindset getting into fitness wasn’t to look a certain way, it was to live a longer life.

‘I wanted to be fitter and healthier because at the time I was not healthy. I was sickly skinny and always getting ill. I’d pretty much shot down my immune system by not eating the right foods and pushing myself with cardio.’

'I trained myself super hard about three years ago, only eating food that once had a life itself and lifting heavy weights five days a week,' she wrote in an Instagram post

‘I kept this up for a good 12-plus months and decided it wasn’t for me. Now I train four days a week, eat well but not 100 per cent clean.’

‘I love mainly working out my lower body. Not because I desire to have a huge butt, but because this is where I personally hold most of my fat and cellulite,’ Karina added.

She admitted to allowing herself to eat bad food like sweets and processed food from time to time.

Karina said such indulgence isn’t something she is ashamed of and is all a part of developing a body that she loves.

‘It’s taken me a while but I’ve learnt how to eat for my body (disregarding my junk food),’ she said.

‘I know when and how much protein I need to be consuming daily while training,’ Karina continued.

The blonde bombshell said that she pays attention to her body and notices results from her stomach and waist when she cuts out sugar.

The designer also explained that having the body she does is due to more than her diet and workout history.

‘Genetics play a huge part. The more mature I became, the more my body developed,’ Karina said.

She hopes that other women can understand you don’t have to look ‘ripped’ to be healthy.

‘Just because I’m into my fitness doesn’t mean I need to look ‘cut’. It’s my life and my body. If I want to work out and consume a cheese burger and a bag of chocolate, I will,’ she said.

Karina told her followers that she loves how her body looks now more than what it looked like three years ago, all because she ‘enjoys’ her ‘curves’.

‘Everyone develops and also holds onto fat differently and that is never a bad thing,’ she said.

‘I know there are crazy trolls out there who will say otherwise but for those who have been following me for a while, you know I LOVE being real and honest.’
