‘Cornetto Trilogy’ hero Simon Pegg appears to have been inspired by Chris Hemsworth, because now he’s absolutely freakin’ shredded for a new movie project.

Don’t believe us? Cast your eyes downward to see the proof on Instagram.

The eye-popping post, uploaded by fitness pro Nick Lower, is captioned: “#SimonPegg 6 month body transformation for #InheritanceMovie. The brief for this role was lean, VERY lean. It required a specific body shape & look.

“Body weight: 78kg (down to) 69kg. Body Fat: 12% (down to) 8%. A mix of strength, circuits, core & 60km p/w trail runs! A sound nutrition plan that worked for him and his goals. 6 months of hard work has paid off and I tip my hat to you sir…”

Yeah, he can have a tip of the old hat from us too! That’s incredible work from a guy in his late forties.

He’s given Captain Marvel star Brie Larson a run for her money.

We suppose one of the questions this bombshell raises is: just what the heck is the movie Simon did all this for, titled Inheritance, actually about?

Maybe the Star Trek actor’s character just inherits a pristine, bulging six-pack? You never know.

The 49-year-old Brit has certainly come a long way. Just last year Simon revealed the serious extent of his struggles with alcoholism and depression.
